For the third consecutive year, Matan will be participating at the FESPA show, featuring the Barak5 HS Super-Wide Format (SWF) printing system – part of Matan's product line of 5 and 3.5-meter wide UV, Hybrid SWF digital printers, which was successfully introduced to the European market at Fespa’07 and has since then been proven in successful installations world-wide.

Matan strengthens the Barak UVPEC benefits

UVPEC stands for Usability, Versatility, Performance, Environmental and Cost of ownership. In all of them the Barak line has unique benefits that many customers around the globe are experiencing on a daily basis.

Usability – Matan will introduce an enhanced Flatbed mechanism that includes new Flatbed tables which are even more user friendly to adjust to the printer and also include a remote control that allows the user to control the Flatbed operation while in a distance from the printer control station. These improvements make the rigid media handling better, shorter in time and more precise.

Versatility – a new feature that enables the production of double-sided Backlit applications in a more precise and easy way is now available. This new option, which includes both software and hardware, enables an easy and high precision double-sided backlit printing workflow with approximately 1 millimeter tolerance.

Performance – the Barak line is not only the fastest in the industry but now also produces an even higher print quality with an innovative 8 separations workflow - developed together with Caldera. The Barak5 can print up to 316 m2 per hour (3400 ft2/hr) and the Barak3 can print up to 246 m2/hr (2648 ft2/hr). In each of these product lines, Matan’s customers can now print in a higher resolution at the faster print modes and benefit an improved print quality without sacrificing speed.

Environmental – The patent pending Ionizer is a new feature to allow better print quality on environmental materials like Polyethylene PE with improved quality due to reduced electrostatic buildup. The Ionizer, with a new software algorithm which enhances print quality enables sharper smaller text – as small as 6 point text - in positive and negative on a wide variety of materials including plastic-based rigid media.

Cost of Ownership – Matan’s competitive total cost of ownership, due to superior ink consumption (35 picoliter drop size), minimal media waste (~30cm), minimal switching time between print modes and media types, is now even more attractive with the special Fespa benefit package which facilitates the fastest return on investment (ROI).
